Frequently asked questions

Can my landlord just evict me?
No. A landlord can only terminate the lease through statutory grounds and the court must grant the termination. Self-help (changing locks, putting belongings outside) is prohibited and punishable.
My home has mold, what can I do?
Mold is a defect for which your landlord is responsible. Report it in writing and give a reasonable deadline. If the landlord does not respond, you can go to the Rent Tribunal for rent reduction or to court to enforce repairs.
Am I paying too much rent?
Possibly. For social housing (liberalization threshold: €879.66 in 2024), maximum rent is determined by the points system. We can calculate whether your rent is too high and start proceedings at the Rent Tribunal on your behalf.
