Geconsolideerde jaarrekening

Consolidated annual accounts

A consolidated financial statement is the financial statement in which the financial data of a parent undertaking and its subsidiary undertakings are presented as a single economic entity.

The consolidated financial statements combine the balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and cash flow statements of all legal entities within the group, with intercompany transactions and interests eliminated. This presents a true and fair view of the financial position and results of the group as a whole.

This obligation arises under Article 2:405 of the Dutch Civil Code and applies to medium-sized and large groups. It enhances transparency for shareholders, creditors and supervisory authorities and prevents the true scale of the group from being obscured.

In practice, consolidated financial statements are frequently prepared in accordance with IFRS or the Guidelines for Annual Reporting, depending on whether the group is listed and on its size.

“The holding company has filed the consolidated annual accounts for 2023 with the Chamber of Commerce, including the consolidated profit and loss account of all its subsidiaries.”
